If you have been trying to have your baby for a while now, then you probably already know what BBT is and why it is recommended you track it.
For those that don’t know: BBT or Basal Body Temperature is your temperature when your body is fully at rest, like right when you wake up in the morning before you get out of bed.
When you track your BBT, our team is able to notice patterns and easily show you how to predict ovulation! Sounds awesome right?
Well, we know it’s not always easy + the longer you’ve been trying, the more dramatizing it can feel. So, we’ve gathered some additional information + tools to encourage you to use this safe, simple and inexpensive tool you have at your fingertips, which by the way has a 76-88% accuracy!
First, forget about keeping these numbers anywhere but in an app. We use Kindara, an app that our clients can enter in all their data from temp to sex, cycle information, and whatever else they may be tracking.
You are most fertile 2-3 days before your temperature spikes, which means when you track your temperature each morning, it becomes easier to predict when you will ovulate. It also may help both you and your practitioner better understand your cycle.
BBT thermometers can be found fairly cheap on Amazon. You just want to make sure it has two numbers after the decimal point.
Now if you have been trying to have your baby for a while now and you are exhausted by taking your temp first thing in the morning or if you find yourself forgetting, let us tell you about the next best option!
Make It Easy

Some of the women we work with are really anxious about tracking their temperature because of irregular or no ovulation as well as the recurring trauma of not conceiving. When this is part of your story, we want to highlight the importance of finding someone you trust to talk about this with. You are not alone! Many women have similar experiences and partnering with a fertility coach could help you see this as a tool to help your fertility team instead of just another task on your to do list.
